teléfono descompuesto is a single-channel video projection that explores the journeys of signs, gestures, and meanings as they travel into our collective unconscious. Thinking with ideas of semiotics and social modelling, the work uses physical language to present a playful interrogation of the notion that there is ‘universal meaning’. This work is a test, and was created for and screened at the Museum of Public Space in Bologna, Italy in 2021. It was later shown at the VISY Cares Hub in Sunshine, Australia in 2022.
